On the first day of the month of Medam, which falls in mid April. The exact day can move by one, so check your Malayalam calendar for the year.
When should I order for Vishu?
By the end of March. Parcels inside Kerala take 2 to 5 days, and the transport offices get busy in the first half of April.
Is there a time limit for bursting at Vishu?
The state can notify hours for any festival, so check whether this year's order names Vishu and what hours it sets. Confirm the current notification before the day.
How do I keep crackers safe from the summer heat?
Keep the sealed boxes indoors, off the floor and out of direct sun, away from the kitchen and any lamp. Open them only on Vishu eve.
